"Russia's Dove of Peace"
Marcus
Edwin’s cartoon, entitled “Russia’s Dove of Peace,” depicts tank (typically
used in war) drawn to look like a Dove (a common symbol of peace). This striking
illustration puts the artist’s opinions front and center. Edwin’s opinion,
which was shared by many at the time of the Cold War, communicates his feelings
of skepticism towards the Soviet Unions’ propaganda on peace during the early
years of the Cold War.
